Lekkerbreek

Lekkerbreek is a private, share-owned game farm just outside Bela-Bela, Limpopo, and is not usually open to the public. Our visit is by special arrangement. The farm has a variety of game species including impala, kudu, waterbuck, blue wildebeest, warthog, bosbok, duiker and zebra. Our 10km hiking route will take us through wooded ‘bosveld’ areas, past a large manmade dam, and across the surrounding hills, offering game- and bird-viewing opportunities and great views of the area.

Unfortunately, there’s no weekend or overnight accommodation available at this venue. Also, since it’s not a public resort, you won’t find it listed or marked on Google Maps. So, please follow the directions carefully.

Here are some generally applicable rules for the hike:

Please …

  1. Do not pick any plants
  2. Do not disturb the wildlife
  3. Do not deface any rocks
  4. Do not smoke during the hike
  5. Keep to the route

We’ll erect a Day Hikers banner at the gate. Morné will meet you as you arrive at the gate and give you directions to the ‘Makietielapa’ on the property as well as your indemnity form(s).

Please ensure that each person entering the property completes and signs an indemnity form, which should be handed back to the hike leader before the hike.
