Moderate to easy routes

(Please check Upcoming Events for details of the Drakensberg hike on 24 September as they appear)

Contact Glenn on ggstacey@hotmail.com or for more information about the event.

Well marked trails to the top with an optional summit loop or a foothill meander allow you to choose between a recreational or athletic pace with the easy option of turning back at any stage all culminating in a forested picnic area. This is the most pleasant northern ascent of the Magaliesberg

Peglerae (9km or 12.5km with Ktatu loop) with 360m summit ascent

Kiepersol (5km) forest walk

Since the picnic area is a few hundred metres from the car park a trailer will be provided for Dayhikers and your cool-boxes and charcoal will be transported there. Alternatively a burger and chips for R75 and a cold-drink for R15 can be purchased there. Depending on the route chosen or route and meal combo and special pricing for us the entrance fee on arrival is variable.

If recreation is not your only goal you may want to measure yourself against the Drakensberg visit we hope to offer later in the year:

Magaliesberg:                                         Drakensberg:

Peglerae to summit                               top of Gudu falls

Peglarae:

more or less follows boundary to summit but not down the other side.

Remember

Good hiking shoes, hat, sun block, at least 2lt of water, snacks
