We aim to provide a gay, lesbian and straight-friendly hiking environment for anyone and everyone to enjoy the beautiful outdoors in the company of like-minded friends.

The 9km route twists and turns up the crest of the Magaliesberg Mountain. Scenic panoramic views await you while catching your breath. The trail, back to camp, meanders through indigenous vegetation and interesting rock formations. This is a good average hike for real nature lovers.

  • Meet in the reception car park at 07:45. We start hiking at 08:30
  • Difficulty rating: 9km moderate difficulty (requires some fitness)
  • Entrance fee: R130 per person, including R10 club fee
  • There are braai facilities. So please bring a braai lunch and charcoal. You may want to bring snacks which we’ll eat along the way.
  • We will have access to the one of the 3 swimming pools – so bring your swimming trunks & bikinis
  • Bring: Good hiking shoes, hat, sun block, 2lt of water, braai lunch
  • No radios or pets. Sorry. No claims against the club for loss/death or injury. Your participation is voluntary. Take care. No littering, we leave only fairy footprints!

Kumbagana Game Lodge is a stunning privately owned game lodge situated on the northern slopes of the Magaliesberg Mountain, only an hour and a half from Gauteng and half an hour from Hartbeespoortdam. It’s approximately 15 km from the Buffelspoort dam. A variety of game can be seen on the farm. Accommodation at the lodge can be booked privately.   • From Johannesburg, take either the R512 past Lanseria Airport, or the R511 past Diepsloot, to Hartbeespoort Dam.
  • Take the N4 highway towards Rustenburg
  • Take the Buffelspoort off-ramp and turn left
  • Turn right at the stop
  • Turn left at the next stop
  • Carry on past the Buffelspoortdam
  • Past Alpha Berry farm
  • You will see the entrance to Kumbagana Game Lodge on your left hand side
